Footwear and apparel brand Woodland plans to add 11 new stores in Gujarat by March 2013. It already has 25 stores operational in Gujarat and addition of new stores will take the total number of stores to 36 in the state.
"In Ahmedabad alone, Woodland already has 8 stores and we have recently opened a new showroom at Law Garden in the city, which is our biggest store in Western India. Two more stores will come up in Ahmedabad this fiscal," said Harkirat Singh, managing director, Woodland Worldwide while launching its new Autumn Winter Collection 2012-13 in Ahmedabad today.
The new stores are being planned in various cities of Gujarat, which, apart from Ahmedabad, include Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Nadiad, Ankleshwar, Vapi and Palanpur.
"Most of the eleven stores planned would be operational by March 2013," said Singh, adding, "The company is planning to add 60 new stores across India by the end of current fiscal. Of these, 25 have already been made operational." Currently, Woodland has 350 stores in India.
Woodland, which clocked a turnover of Rs 700 crore in 2011-12, expects to achieve Rs 800 turnover in fiscal 2012-13.
