Automobile major Hyundai Motor India Monday reported it has received bookings for 11,000 units of its entry-level compact sedan 'Xcent' within just 30 days of its launch in March 2014.
"We are committed and continuously working on the operational efficiencies to cater to the demand to reduce the waiting period," Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Hyundai Motor India said in a statement.
According to the company, over 100,000 enquiries have been received at its dealerships across metros as well as tier-I and II cities.
Hyundai had launched the entry-level sedan in March priced between Rs.4.66 lakh and Rs.7.38 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The sedan is available in two engine options of 1.1 litre advanced second generation U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2 litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine.
The second generation U2 CRDi diesel delivers a fuel mileage of 24.4 km per litre while the all-aluminium 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine gives a mileage of 19.1 km per litre.
The petrol engine offers the choice of five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic transmission.
