XLRI campus placement process online

XLRI Jamshedpur has taken it annual campus placement process online after taking its student application system online in 2001 and its alumni management system in 2002.

The paper-based placement process has been replaced by an online campus placement system from Blueshift India, XLRI said in a press release.

The placement season continues until March this year. Students will be able to apply to companies online and view their status. Information about participating companies will be available online to students, along with links to websites of companies.

Companies will be able to search and view student profiles, job applications, and schedule placement activity, prior to campus visits.

XLRI expects the online system to provide better process coordination and speed up reporting of placement data. Aneesh Banerjee, secretary of the placement committee, said the future of recruitment was in efficiency of the process and IT would enable XLRI improve efficiency. The online placement system was expected to attract more prospective employers to use it in the coming years.

"Generation of analytical reports on placement patterns will facilitate better planning and execution of the placement exercise," Fr P D Thomas, director of XLRI, said.
