Yamaha launches the Gladiator

Yamaha motor is planning to launch another variant of its new lifestyle bike Gladiator in the next couple of months. The variant could be an in the deluxe segment.
 
"We will launch a variant of Gladiator in the next couple of months and another model in higher CC next year," Anand Singh Thakur, regional business manager (Maharashtra and Gujarat), Yamaha Motor India told Business Standard. He was in the city for the launch of Yamaha Gladiator on Wednesday.
 
Sources said the company will launch a bike in the 150 or 180 CC soon and Gladiator could also be upgraded to the deluxe section.
 
It will also launch an aggressive promotion campaign in 27 cities displaying the bikes in a lifestyle caravan, including Ahmedabad and Baroda, in the next couple of days.
 
Gladiator is four stroke, 125 CC, five speed bike that will target the young Indian customer. The bike is available in four colours and gives an average of 67 kms on actual driving conditions.
 
The Gladiator is available in two versions "� Gladiator standard and Gladiator DX. Gladiator DX which has a kick start and 240 mm disc brakes is pegged at Rs 44,990 while its Standard version is priced at 41,990.
 
"The bike can be started at any gear and will also be convenient to use," he added. The bike comes with a five year warranty.
 
Gladiator is produced at the company's Surajpur plant which has a production capacity of five lakh units. The company plans to sell 1 lakh bikes across the country and 10,000 bikes in the state by the end of the year. It expects to capture 10 per cent market share in the two wheeler segment both in the state and the country.
