| Making Fazer a powerful value for money proposition for the discerning customers is the unmatched power and superior mileage of the bike. Powered by a 125 cc, 4 stroke, air-cooled SOHC 2-valve single cylinder engine that delivers power with outstanding pick-up, Fazer also offers excellent fuel economy and superb riding comfort. The bike comes with a BS carburetor equipped with the unique Yamaha Throttle Position Sensor (YTPS). The first ever on an Indian model, the BS carburetor utilizes information from the Throttle Position Sensor to provide highly precise adjustment of the ignition advance based on the degree of throttle opening at any given time by means of 3-dimensional digital mapping. This optimises the functioning of BS carburettor while also ensuring outstanding combustion efficiency and, thus, maximised fuel economy and good pick up. |
| This next generation executive commuter also strikes a perfect balance of style and comfort. Giving the Fazer a distinct look is the first ever wide-spaced dual headlight. Equipped with the latest multi-reflector technology, the dual headlight design is in line with the latest international design trends. The taillight has also been integrated with the flashers to give the bike a new classy look. |
| True to its promise of offering immense riding comfort, the Yamaha Fazer's front and rear suspensions come with plenty of cushion stroke. While the front fork adopts 35 mm diameter inner tubes that provide a wheel stroke of 120 mm, the rear suspension adopts a 5 step adjustable, light weight unit with a built in large diameter rod and cylinder and optimized lever ratio. The front and rear suspension with long stroke ensures a comfortable and fatigue free ride for the rider and the passenger. To further enhance the riding experience for both rider and the passenger, the company has also adopted a new spacious seat design that provides equal space for rider and passenger. |
| For more enjoyable riding experience, Fazer comes equipped with 18-inch zapper tyres. 150 mm diameter front and 130 mm diameter rear dust resistant drum brakes for excellent stopping power add another performance dimension to the bike. |
| An environment friendly vehicle, the new Fazer meets the Indian 2005 emission standards. FAZER is also the only bike in the India to have a low environmental impact non-asbestos type clutch friction plate and brake shoes. |
| Fazer's meter panel features the first combination indicator of speedometer and tachometer ever on the Indian roads. In addition, a large capacity stylish muffler is adopted to provide optimum exhaust performance, low noise and sporty sound. To offer a 'noise-less' riding experience, Fazer has silent type cam chain, thicker fins on the cylinder head and plastic resin gears for the oil pump. |
| Fazer comes with a large fuel tank, lightweight diamond type frame for more balance and rigidity, stylish light weight die cast aluminum rear footrest bracket, cast aluminum grab bar that also serves as a taillight protector and a sari guard. These features not only make it stand apart from other bikes in its category but offer some unique benefits as well. The large fuel tank enables the rider to travel long distances without stops for re-fuelling. The shape of the fuel tank has been specially designed to give excellent knee grip to the rider for good riding comfort. |
| Available in four exciting metallic colours "� deep red, deep purplish Blue, bluish black and dark grey, Fazer will be available through a 450 dealer strong network of Yamaha Motor in India. The sale of Fazer will start from 7th July,2004 and the company aims to sell around 40,000 Fazer in calendar year 2004. |
