Aiming a bigger pie in the domestic bike market, Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha has planned to introduce a 150 cc motorcycle in October this year, besides gearing up to launch a slew of variants.
"In the next six months, we are expecting over 100 per cent growth in the sale of the company. To fuel this growth,we will be launching a 150 cc bike in the deluxe category in October keeping in mind the festive season," India Yamaha Motor Division Head (Sales and Marketing) Pankaj Dubey told PTI, adding the new model would be called as 'Yamaha FZ'.
Besides, the company would also introduce a number of variants of the existing models in the coming months, he added.
"To start with, we will launch one variant of our sports bike YZF-R15 with new colours in this month," Dubey said.
The company has doubled its market share in India between January and July owing to launch of new products.
"In January, we had a market share of about 1.3 per cent. Riding on the back of superior launches, we are now able to double our share in the domestic market to 2.6 per cent," Dubey said.

When asked if the company expected any impact on its sale due to interest rate hike, Dubey said: "Market condition is really very worrisome, but we are not seeing any demand fall. Our company is still experiencing growth despite all hardship."
