Software Solution and BPO services provider Zensar Technologies has reported an upward year-on-year profit growth for the quarter ended December 2008. It posted a net profit of Rs 20.22 crore in the quarter as against Rs 15.02 crore in the previous corresponding period, reflecting a growth of 34.6 per cent.
Revenues grew to Rs 249.43 crore (Rs 199.20 crore), a jump of 25.21 per cent. EPS rose from Rs 6.27 to Rs 8.44, up 35 per cent.
“In spite of the bad current market scenario, the company has announced profits with a significant year-on-year growth of 35 per cent in profit after tax. Zensar’s strong relationships with existing customers, steady movement on the customer acquisition front and focus on internal capability building have stood us in good stead,” Ganesh Natarajan, vice-chairman and MD, Zensar, said in a press release.
“Three of our businesses did well in the quarter and contributed to the growth. Our offshore development and migration business recorded a growth of 20 per cent, BPO business was up 45 per cent and the enterprise unit by 35 per cent. These units have overcome their problems and so we did well,” he added.
