ÜTI Mutual fund appoints Leo Puri as Managing Director of UTI AMC

UTI AMC was headless for the last 26 months

UTI Mutual Fund has appointed Leo Puri as Managing Director of UTI AMC Ltd. The appointment, approved by the shareholders in an EGM held today in Mumbai was earlier proposed by the Board of Directors.
 
Speaking on the appointment, P R Khanna, Director, said: “We are pleased to have a professional of the caliber of Puri on board of UTI AMC. Mr. Puri brings three decades of valuable experience in the financial services industry, and we are certain that he will be able to take the organisation to higher levels of excellence. On behalf of the Board, I extend a very warm welcome to Mr. Puri.

 
Leo Puri has served as Senior Advisor  at McKinsey & Company and also served as a senior partner of the firm, and has 25 years of experience in working in consulting and financial institutions.
Between 2007 and 2011, Leo was a Managing Director with Warburg Pincus & Company, a leading Private Equity Firm, responsible for investments in India and financial institutions in relevant Asian markets.
Leo has master's degree from the Oxford University, UK in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He also has a master's degree in Law from Cambridge University with First Class honors.
