At least 11 tourists were killed and around 40 injured when a bus skidded off a mountain road and fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district late Monday, police said.
“All the 11 dead are tourists, the toll could rise,” said B S Thakur a senior police officer. Most of the passengers are from Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh.
Police arrived at the spot late, local villagers struggled in the dark to remove the bodies from the wrecked bus some 150 km south of the state state capital .
A week ago 25 tourists were swept by the Beas river in the state . Most of the bodies have still not been found.
