Around 143 companies including 37 start-ups has offered a total of 714 jobs in Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), in the first week of the first phase of campus placement.
Placements at the institute began on December 1, is expected to continue till December 13, 2016.
A total of 1327 students registered for placements during the academic session out of which 625 students have already been placed after a week of placements at IIT Madras, said the institute in an announcement. So far, 143 companies have made 714 offers, including 73 pre-placement offers. Around 37 start-up companies have made 122 offers.
The companies that have made more than 5 offers include Citicorp Services, Belcan India, Enfrien Innovations, MedGenome Labs, MyAlly, Noodle Analytic, Quantiphi Analytics, Rivigo Services, The Hindu Group, and Tiger Analytics.
International companies including Intel, Citicorp Services, Samsung RnD, Eaton, Ernst and Young and EXL Services has made more than 15 offers each this placement season. On December 4, there was a break due to CAT exam, while December 6 and 7 were off days due to the demise of J Jayalalithaa, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
