Seventy-seven cases of tiger deaths have been reported this year of which 10 mortalities have happened since June end, Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.
"The number of tigers died between January 1 to June 26 2016, including 15 seizures, is 67 and not 74," Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave said in a written reply.
He was asked if 74 tigers have died this year till June 26.
Dave had on July 25 said 73 cases of tiger mortality have been reported by the states till date which included 21 cases of confirmed poaching, including seizure, seven due to natural and other causes while 45 are under scrutiny.
