Ahead of IMD's monsoon forecast, North, central India in grip of heat waves

The meteorological department will come out with its monsoon predictions for the country today

While the country waits for the first rainfall forecast for this year's monsoon, many parts of North, Northwest and central India will face extreme heatwave conditions for the next few days, IMD's heat wave forecast said recently. 

On Monday, Adilabad district of Telangana recorded the highest temperature of 44.4 degrees Celsius in the state. 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning that heatwave conditions were likely to prevail at some places in north Telangana on Tuesday as well. 

Mercury has been rising in Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar as both recorded maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, followed by Ramagundam (43.4) and Medak (43.2). 

The temperature soared to 42.4 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad and normal life got disrupted due to the adverse situation. 

The people of entire North and central India are about to face extreme heatwave and it seems there is no respite from the situation in near future. 

The IMD will on Tuesday come out with its prediction regarding the monsoon in the country.

"The maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 2 to 4 degrees and above 42 degrees Celsius at isolated places in the north Telangana and above 40 degrees Celsius at many places tomorrow," IMD website said.
