AMRI Hospitals in Bhubaneswar to open in Feb

AMRI Hospitals Limited, one of the leading hospital chains in eastern India, will operationalise its 400 bedded tertiary clinical care facility at Bhubaneswar from February.

“The operation at the facility will start by January end or early February”, Salil Kumar Mohanty, vice president, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, told media persons.

All the clearances relating to fire safety and environment safeguard and approvals from pollution contribution board are in place and the facility will be started only after proper sterilization, he added.

On the safety measures at the Bhubaneswar facility, Krish Ramesh, chief executive officer (CEO), AMRI Hospitals said, fire safety and patient safety measures have been taken care at the hospital and is better than other hospitals in Odisha.

Built at a cost of Rs 310 crore, the hospital is located at about 10 kms away from the Bhubaneswar railway station and is the first hospital of AMRI outside West Bengal.

The bed strength of AMRI Hospitals has increased to 1000 with the addition of 400 beds at its Bhubaneswar facility. Spread over five acres of land, the health care facility and its services will be housed in three separate buildings- hospital building, service building and kitchen building.

The medical specialties at the hospital include anesthesia, day care, critical care, medicine, dentistry, emergency medicine, ENT (ear, nose and throat), preventive health check-up, general medicine, transfusion medicine etc. In the surgery specialties the hospital will house facilities for arthroscopy and joint replacement surgery, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, organs transplant, neuro surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery etc.

“The super specialty hospital will provide affordable tertiary clinical care to the people of Odisha and its adjoining states”, said the CEO.

AMRI Hospitals is hopeful that in next two-three months, most leading corporate houses in the state will have tie-ups with the facility.

The hospital will generate employment for 4000 people both directly and indirectly, he claimed.
