Andhra Pradesh government will be conducting a 'smart pulse survey' from Friday to collect socio-economic data of families in the state. The survey lasts for 22 days.

Right from Aadhar number to mobile phone number, each and every detail of households will be collected by the enumerators, according to the government.

AP has over 14 million households and a total population of about 45 million spread across 13 districts.

"These details will help the government to take up more developmental programmes and ensure that they reach the right beneficiaries," chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu told the officials while reviewing the preparations being made for the survey.

The government has provided computer tabs to the enumerators for recording the survey data online, except in places where 2G or 3G services are not available. In such places, offline surveys will be permitted.

The government will monitor the day-to-day work of enumerators by using geo-tagging as it thinks the usage of technology will increase accountability and transparency of the whole exercise. Among other things, citizen request for change of address in the Aadhar card will be undertaken by the enumerators, the government said.

It may be recalled that in 2014, Telangana government had conducted a similar socio-economic survey on a single day covering the entire state.
