Andhra Pradesh government is set to execute two metro rail projects in Visakhapatnam and VGTM (Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri) areas of the state.

AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu held discussions with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) principal advisor E Sreedharan in this regard here on Monday.

The construction of the projects has been assigned to DMRC and Sreedharan has been appointed as the advisor for the two projects.

Naidu is said to have asked Sreedharan to prepare a feasibility report and to finish both the projects within three and a half years.

The state government has also proposed a metro rail project for Tirupati. However, the Tirupati metro rail project would be taken up following the completion of Visakhapatnam and VGTM projects.
