Four time World Cup champions , Australia won their quarter-final encounter against Pakistan easily in the end. Chasing a target of 214 to win, the Aussies reached the target with 97 balls to spare. They'll now face defending champions India in the semi finals of the tournament.

Earlier Pakistan had huffed and puffed to a paltry score of 213 all out. Josh Hazelwood was the pick of the Oz bowlers with figures of 4/35.

However what looked like an easy target wasn't one. Wahab Riaz bent his back and bowled an ispired spell to peg the hosts at 59/3. Shane Watson and Steve Smith resurrected the innings but the former was under immense pressure under Wahab.

The Pakistani fielding was shocking to say the least. Easy chances off Watson and Maxwell were dropped and the Pakistani fans won't be wrong in believing that that was the turning point of the match. Wahab Riaz was the unlucky bowler on both these occassions.

Eventually, Watson (64*) and Maxewell (44*) saw the hosts through with some lusty blows towards the end of the innings.
