The B.Tech students of Delhi University (DU) staged a protest today outside the Human Resource Development Ministry after being left in a lurch following the roll back of the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP).

The Delhi University Academic Council will decide on the fate of the B.Tech course today. Students, however, are up in arms as they want their course to remain a Four Year one.

Anubhav Singh, a student of Ramanujan college in DU's south campus, told ANI, "We are here to protest because the roll back of the FYUP. We have no problems if all the other courses are of three years' duration. But our course should remain a Four Year course. Even the new admissions in B.Tech should take place according to the Four Year format."

Another student also said that B.Tech should remain a four year course and the course content should also remain the same.

The B.Tech course was introduced last year along with the FYUP but now that the varsity is reverting back to the three year course, the students are uncertain about the future of the course.
