Baddi varsity signs MoU with industry to facilitate employment

'Academic Adoption' program was also launched by BUEST to provide academic exposure as well as practical exposure to the students

With an objective to meet the manpower need of the industry and create a win – win situation for academia, students and industry, Himachal Pradesh-based Baddi University of Emerging Science and Technology (BUEST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Confederation of Indian Industry Young Indians (CII Yi), Zensar Technologies and Glenmark Pharmacuticals to facilitate quality employment through education and skill development.

A program of ‘Academic Adoption’ on the occasion was launched by BUEST, which shall provide academic exposure as well as practical exposure to the students. While the CII Yi net will provide the opportunities of growth, both personally and professionally at National level through various platforms, Zensar Technologies will be opening an Education for Sustainable Development Centre at the university premises to provide technology training to the students.

Dr Sandeep Chakraborty , Registrar,  BUEST said, “The uniqueness and novelty of this programme is that the students will be given academic exposure on weekends and will be working on the weekdays in industries”.

“Our aim, is to get the students a suitable gainful employment in the adopted company itself at the completion of the course and this programme grooms the students from day one towards this aim,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion Kishore Dharnikota- Vice President- Quality, Glenmark stated “There has been a persistent concern in the industry about the gap between available talent and knowledge pool and its employability. Industry has suffered in past and is succumbing to ‘good human resource’. We have reached a stage where we need to look at a tailor- made education system and we hope endeavours like such will be able to provide rich supply pool of technical manpower.
