BCCI Emergency Working Committee meet starts in Chennai

Major agenda for the meeting is whether Srinivasan resigns or steps aside temporarily

The BCCI's working committee meeting, which will decide N Srinivasan, President of BCCI fate started at Chennai on Sunday at around 2.35 pm.

This is the second such emergency meeting in a fortnight, to discuss issues of the fallout of the corruption scandal in the IPL Season.

Meanwhile some of the media reports have stated that Srinivasan agreed to step down unconditionally and steering committee will take over the President's role. However, their is no official confirmation from the BCCI or from Srinivasan.

Major agenda for the meeting is whether Srinivasan resigns or steps aside temporarily until the commission appointed by BCCI to look into his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, the top Chennai Super Kings official arrested on charges of betting during the IPL matches. It may be noted, Meyiappan was arrested on May 24th midnight his Police custody was extended till May 31.

BCCI’s Secretary Sanjay Jagdale and Treasurer Ajay Shirke who resigned from their respective posts on May 31, also joined today's meeting at Chennai, while some of the top members including Arun Jaitely are attending the meeting through Video Conference.

The meeting was attended by over 14 members. Some of the key members are N Srinivasan, Jagmohan Dalmia, BCCI vice president Niranjan Shah, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Ravi Sawant. Even Sanjay Jagadale, who announced his resignation as BCCI Secretary also attended today's meeting.
