A high level probe had been ordered against a Bhubaneswar-based chit-fund company for allegedly duping people in Chhattisgarh with its reluctance to return the deposited money.
A delegation comprising the investors and the employees of the company today called on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and apprised him about the situation. This was for the first time the executives and the agent of the company had come out in open to give evidence against the management."The Chief Minister had ordered a high level probe and had asked the Inspector General of Police Raipur Range to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter," a state government spokesperson said. He asked the police authorities to ensure that the money invested in the chit fund company was returned.
The spokesperson said the company staff and investors told the Chief Minister that the firm was Micro-Finance Company Limited with the head-office located in Rasulgarh of Bhubaneswar in Odisha. The company could not be contacted for its version on the issue. The depositors requested the Chief Minister to ensure that their hard-earned money was returned.
