With Mohammad Kaif, the absconding sharpshooter wanted in the murder of Bihar senior scribe Rajdev Ranjan, being spotted with former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) parliamentarian Mohammad Shahabuddin who is out on bail, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has pounced on the Bihar Government and questioned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's inability to arrest the accused.

Speaking to ANI here, BJP leader Nalin Kohli asserted that this development is the concrete proof of 'gunda raj' returning to Bihar.

"Matter of great shock, pain and concern that a person who is accused in the murder of journalist is openly seen welcoming Shahabuddin without any fear. Clearly he (Kaif) thinks he can do whatever he wants and no one can do anything about it," Kohli said.

Emphasising that Kaif was practically daring the police to arrest him by brazenly appearing in the open, the BJP leader added that clearly law and order had gone for a toss in Bihar and that governance did not exist anymore.

Earlier, in a major development signalling trouble for Shahabuddin, a video has gone viral in which wanted sharpshooter Kaif can be seen standing with the leader after his release from prison.

Kaif is one of the accused in the murder of Hindustan daily's Siwan bureau chief Rajdev Ranjan.

"Police probe against the accused Mohammad Kaif) in case of journalist Rajdev Ranjan's murder is underway," Siwan SP Saurabh Shah told ANI.

In the video clip, Kaif can be seen standing right next to Shahabuddin and cheering him on, as he spoke to media after being released on bail on Saturday.

Patna High Court granted Shahabuddin bail in the case of a murder of a witness to the 2004 killing of two brothers in Siwan.
