Apprehending arrest hours after a CBI raid on their residences in connection with illegal mining case, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and some family members today moved the CBI court, seeking anticipatory bail.

Besides Yeddyurappa, his two sons -- B Y Raghavendra and B Y Vijendra -- and son-in-law Sohan Kumar filed the applications.     The court has directed the CBI to file their objections by tomorrow, when the matter will come up for hearing.

Spelling more trouble for beleaguered Yeddyurappa, the CBI raided his and his family members' residences and two mining firms, a day after it registered a case,as it launched a probe into his alleged role in illegal mining in line with a Supreme Court order.

CBI officials conducted raids at eight premises belonging to Yeddyurappa, Raghavendra and Vijendra and Sohan Kumar in Bangalore and Shimoga districts.

A case for offences under IPC, including criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust has been registered as also under provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act and Prevention of Corruption Act.
