Central Bureau of Investigation has said that it has enough evidence to support its case against former coal secretary P C Parakh and industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla in the coal block allocation scam. CBI official said that the agency would present all details of the case to the Supreme Court, which is closely monitoring the probe in coal allocation scam.
The investigation agency has remained silent on not naming the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the then coal minister as one of the accused. Parakh has alleged that three parties are involved in any conspiracy, the one who makes representation, the one who recommends and the one who takes the decision and that PM should be named as accused.
CBI on Monday evening had registered an FIR against Birla, Parakh and Hindalco alongwith unnamed officials for criminal conspiracy in the allocation of the Talabira II coal block in Jharsuguda, Orissa.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) found that Birla met the then coal secretary Parekh to push for the allocation of Talabira II coal block in Jharsuguda district of Orissa in the second half of 2005, according to a senior official at the agency.
In its FIR, CBI has alleged that Birla’s company was accommodated in the above mentioned coal block, even though the provisions allowed the allocation only to public sector companies. “The Screening Committee’s recommendations were overturned, abusing the official position to give favours to Hindalco,” the CBI official said.
This is the 14th FIR filed by CBI in the coal block allocation scam.
