Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Congress Government that is in the eye of storm over shady land deals in Haryana was today exposed by its own party colleague and veteran leader Rao Inderjit Singh, a sitting Congress Member Parliament from Gurgaon constituency.

According to political observers, Rao may quit the Congress Party in a few days to join some other national political outfit and there are projections that some others may follow the suit as the party high command did not fulfil their political ambition.

Rao alleged before the media that out of 80,000 acre of total land in Gurgaon district, a 54,000 acre has been underway for CLU (Change of Land Use) and CLU has already been granted for 21,000 acre.

He minced no words in saying that the state was hand in glove with the real estate developers and property consultants.

The development plan of 2004-05 of NCR in Haryana has not been implemented completely and the plans for 2021,2025 and 2031 have been prepared, he said. This futuristic planning is being done to convert the land from agriculture to other use in districts falling in NCR for the people with vested interests, Rao added.

“The state draws 55% of its annual revenue from Gurgaon due to extensive approvals for CLU but the district is in the utter neglect of civic infrastructure. The locals did not enjoy the fruits of state revenue generation in the form of fee collected by CLU. The roads, sewerage system, drinking water availability; all are in shambles”.

When the Hooda government took charge in year 2004, the state’s annual budget was of Rs 2,400 cr which now stands at Rs 27,000 cr. But this manifold increase in number is not reflected in the development of state, Rao added.

Refraining from any direct accusations on the son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, he said, “as a citizen of India Robert Vadra is not above law and if guilty, should be punished for the illegitimate land deals.”

He out rightly denied any underhand deals with the construction company Unitech which some of his part colleagues had accused him of.

While Hooda has been leaving no stone unturned to brag about Haryana’s development, a direct call by a senior colleague over the rampant change of land use and lack of development despite huge revenue collection out of CLU charges clearly indicates the challenges for the party in upcoming and crucial Lok Sabha elections.
