The Congress as an organisation in the state is strong enough to unseat the ruling BJP government in Gujarat and form the next government, claimed the union home minister, P Chidambaram in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
"The organisation is strong, both Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) and Congress Legislative Party (CLP). They have the capacity to throw this government and form their own government in the next election," said Chidambaram after a meeting with the partymen at the state congress headquarters here.
Chidambaram expressed confidence to win the next state assembly elections due in December this year. "Both the organisation and CLP together will bring back the Congress to power in Gujarat," he said. In a closed-door meeting with state congress leaders and workers, Chidambaram asked them to work harder for the elections. "He asked the partymen to address issues of different segments of the community," said Manish Doshi, state party spokesperson.
