Congress leader PL Punia on Monday backed the preparedness level of security arrangements and expressed that any possibility of a terror strike on sensitive locations in India like the Parliament would meet with failure.
"In retaliation of the surgical strike a possibility has been expressed that from Pakistani side, terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammed or Lashkar-e-Taiba have become active with the help of Pakistani government and Pakistani Army," he said.
"I believe that our intelligence agencies and army, who are on alert, will be able to foil such any attempt to attack us," he added.
To take revenge against the surgical strikes conducted by Indian Army on the terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC), the intelligence agencies have reportedly been tipped off about JeM planning an attack on the Indian Parliament.
The report also said that the chatter picked by the agencies suggested that the operatives had been told to attack the Delhi Secretariat, the Akshardham and the Lotus temple if they failed to carry out the suicide attack on Parliament.
In 2001, Afzal Guru had carried out an attack on the Parliament. He was hanged to death on February 9, 2013, following his conviction.
