Chhattisgarh Government on Monday, told the Assembly no child in the state had died after consuming flavoured milk distributed in anganwadis under a welfare scheme and rejected Congress' claim in this regard.

The main Opposition party had alleged that children had died after drinking flavoured milk distributed in anganwadis (child care centres) under a Government scheme and sought reply on the issue from the Minister concerned.

Chunnilal Sahu (Congress) asked the Government to provide "death" figures and clarify whether sub-standard milk had been provided to the anganwadis which resulted in the tragedy.
