Chhattisgarh Government on Monday, told the Assembly no child in the state had died after consuming flavoured milk distributed in anganwadis under a welfare scheme and rejected Congress' claim in this regard.
The main Opposition party had alleged that children had died after drinking flavoured milk distributed in anganwadis (child care centres) under a Government scheme and sought reply on the issue from the Minister concerned.
Chunnilal Sahu (Congress) asked the Government to provide "death" figures and clarify whether sub-standard milk had been provided to the anganwadis which resulted in the tragedy.
Also, milk supplied to these centres were not found to be of inferior quality, she said.
Not satisfied with the Minister's reply, Congress members walked out of the Assembly.
