Gujarat's Covid tally reaches 1,03,006 : Officials

The Covid-19 cases in Gujarat rose to 1,03,006 cases, with the addition of the daily spike of 1,311 cases, health officials said.

Surat reported 277 cases and Ahmedabad saw 167 cases coming up. The number of positive cases are increasing drastically in Rajkot and Jamnagar.

Ahmedabad was followed by Rajkot where 145 cases were registered. Vadodara has been recording more than 120 cases detected daily and everyday it keeps on increasing and on Saturday 119 cases were registered, while 111 positive cases were detected in Jamnagar.

Bihar's Covid-19 death toll mounts to 750 with nine more fatalities

Bihar reported nine more COVID-19 fatalities, pushing the death toll to 750, even as the state's caseload jumped to 1,45,860 with 1,727 new infections, the health department said on Saturday.

The discharge rate, too, rose to 88.01 per cent after 1,965 people recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours, it said. The total number of recoveries stood at 1,28,376.

Single-day recoveries outnumber new Covid-19 cases in Nagaland

Single-day recoveries outnumbered new Covid-19 cases in Nagaland on Saturday as 68 people were cured of the disease and 21 tested positive for the infection, Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said.

The fresh infections have pushed the state's tally to 4,128.

Assam reports 2,698 new Covid-19 cases, 7 deaths

Assam's Covid-19 caseload went up to 1,23,922 after 2,698 more people tested positive for the virus, while seven fresh fatalities took the death toll to 352 on Saturday, Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Two of the seven deaths were reported from Darrang while Kamrup Metropolitan, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Hailakandi and Jorhat registered one casualty each.

Uttarakhand logs highest one-day jump with 950 new Covid-19 cases

Uttarakhand on Saturday recorded its highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases with 950 people testing positive for the infection, according to a state health department bulletin.
The state also reported its highest number of fatalities in a day after 18 people, who tested psoitive for the disease, died on Saturday, it said.
 
The Covid-19 tally in Uttarakhand now stands at 23,961 while the death toll is 330, the bulletin said.

Punjab reports 1,515 new Covid-19 cases, tally reaches 61,527

Punjab reported 1,515 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday taking the total number of cases to 61,527 in the state.

According to the state government, 69 deaths were reported today and the death toll has gone up to 1,808. A total of 1306 patients were discharged on Saturday.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday ended his week-long self-isolation after testing negative for coronavirus, Chief Minister's Office said.

Chhattisgarh: 1,172 new Covid-19 cases, 14 deaths; tally crosses 41,000

Chhattisgarh reported 1,172 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday and 14 deaths over the past couple of days, taking the statewide tally to 41,806 and the toll to 351, a health official said.
 
The state also witnessed the highest number of patients being discharged in single day at 879, he added.
 
So far, 20,487 patients have recovered from the infection since the first case reported in March, leaving the state with 20,968 active cases, he said. Of the 1,172 fresh cases, Raipur district accounted for 398 that took the case tally in the region to 15,021, including 184 deaths, he said.

Madhya Pradesh govt sets rates for hospitals treating Covid-19 patients

The Madhya Pradesh government on Saturday decided that private hospitals treating Covid-19 patients could charge only 40 per cent more than rates prevalent in the time before the outbreak. It was also decided that patients being treated at private Covid-19 designated hospitals, which are authorised and in contract with the government, can voluntarily pay their bills.
 
Such hospitals are currently treating patients free of cost.
 
After a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to review the coronavirus situation, Minister for Medical Education Minister Vishvas Sarang informed that there was some confusion about bills being raised by private hospitals treating Covid-19 patients.

Biggest one-day spike of 182 Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya

Meghalaya registered its highest single-day spike of 182 Covid-19 cases on Saturday, which pushed the tally in the northeastern state to 2,916, a health department official said.
 
Of the new cases, 121 were reported from East Khasi Hills district, 31 from Ri-Bhoi, 15 from East Garo, 12 from West Garo, two from North Garo and one from West Khasi hills districts, Health Services Director Aman War said.
 
"Fifteen health workers and five armed forces personnel from East Khasi Hills district are among new patients," he said.

Haryana reports highest one-day jump in Covid-19 deaths, cases

Haryana on Saturday reported its highest single-day jump in number of Covid-19 deaths at 22, while a record spike of 2,289 cases pushed the infection tally to 74,272, according to the state health department''s daily bulletin. Just a day earlier, the state had recorded the biggest spike of 1,884 cases and 19 fatalities.
 
The total number of fatalities in the state rose to 781 with the addition of the fresh fatalities.
 
While Kurukshetra and Panchkula reported three deaths each, two fatalities each were from Gurugram, Ambala, Karnal, Hisar and Yamunanagar while one death each took place in Kaithal, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Palwal and Rohtak, the bulletin said.

Tamil Nadu reports 5,870 new Covid-19 cases, 61 deaths

Tamil Nadu has reported 5,870 new Covid-19 cases and 61 deaths in the last 24 hours. According to the state health department, the total number of active cases now stands at 51,583. A total of 5,859 patients have also been discharged in the last 24 hours
 
The Health Department said 3,98,366 patients have been discharged till now while 7,748 have lost their lives due to the virus.

Corona update: With 86,432 new cases, India's tally has now surged past the 4-million mark to 4,023,179. This is the third consecutive day when the country has recorded over 80,000 cases in a single day. India is only a notch away from replacing Brazil as the second-most affected nation. The country's death toll currently stands at 69,614, according to Worldometer.

Maharashtra, the worst-hit state has recorded its highest-ever single-day spike of 19,218 coronavirus cases. Five most affected states by total tally of cases are Maharashtra (863,062), Andhra Pradesh (465,730), Tamil Nadu (439,959), Karnataka (370,206), and Uttar Pradesh (253,000).

World coronavirus update: The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 26,795,701. While 18,880,235 have recovered, 876,032 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, has 6,387,052 cases. It is followed by Brazil, which has 4,091,801, India (4,023,179) and Russia (1,015,105).
