A Delhi court on Monday refused to hear a plea from Teri Director General R K Pachauri — who is facing sexual harassment allegations from a former woman colleague — to be allowed travel abroad for the Global Water Summit in Greece. The development came after the complainant questioned Pachauri’s plea.

Additional sessions judge Raj Kumar Tripathi gave Pachauri liberty to withdraw his plea and move a fresh application before the metropolitan magistrate with territorial jurisdiction of the case.

Here’s how the sexual harassment controversy unfolded:

Feb 20: A woman employee of Teri lodges an FIR against Pachauri, accusing him of sexual harassment, in New Delhi. The accused receives interim relief against arrest from the Delhi High Court which enables him to approach a lower court for anticipatory bail by February 23

Feb 23: Pachauri, also a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s council on climate change, resigns from his position as chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, with immediate effect.
