The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India now stands at 10,162,738 – or 96.52 per cent of total caseload – with 15,975 new cured cases being reported on Friday.
- With a daily increase of 15,590 in total cases, India’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen 10,512,093 on Thursday to 10,527,683 – an increase of 0.1%. Death toll has reached 151,918, with 191 fatalities in a day. Now the thirteenth-most-affected country by active cases, third by fatality, and second by total and recovered cases, India has added 114,266 cases in the past 7 days.
- India now accounts for 0.86% of all active cases globally (one in every 116 active cases), and 7.58% of all deaths (one in every 13 deaths).
- Backwards from here, the last 1 million cases for India have come in 44 days.
- The count of active cases across India has seen a net reduction of 576, compared with 904 on Thursday. Five states that have reported the highest increase in active cases are Kerala (1134), Maharashtra (200), Bihar (55), Goa (34), and Nagaland (21).
- With 15,975 new daily recoveries, India’s recovery rate has increased to 96.53%, and fatality rate remains unchanged at 1.44%.
- The Indian states and UTs with the worst case fatality rates at present are Punjab (3.22%), Maharashtra (2.54%), and Gujarat (2.16%). The rate in as many as 13 is higher than the national average.
- India’s new daily closed cases stand at 16,166 — 191 deaths and 15,975 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at 1.18%.
- India’s 5-day moving average of daily rate of addition to total cases stands at 0.1%.
- India’s doubling time for total cases stands at 467.7 days, and for deaths at 551.0 days.
- Overall, five states with the biggest 24-hour jump in total cases are Kerala (5490), Maharashtra (3579), West Bengal (680), Tamil Nadu (665), and Chhattisgarh (607).
- Among states with more than 25,000 cases, the five with worst recovery rates at present are Kerala (91.57%), Maharashtra (94.75%), Punjab (95.15%), Gujarat (95.51%), and Uttarakhand (95.65%).
- India on Thursday conducted 730,096 coronavirus tests, taking the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 184,962,401. The test positivity rate recorded was 2.1%.
- Five states with the highest test positivity rate (TPR) – percentage of tested people turning out to be positive for Covid-19 infection (by cumulative data for tests and cases) – are Maharashtra (14.55%), Goa (12.33%), Chandigarh (10.36%), Nagaland (9.82%), and Kerala (9.57%).
- Five states with the highest TPR by daily numbers for tests and cases added – are Nagaland (15.09%), Kerala (8.11%), Maharashtra (5.86%), Goa (5.6%), and Sikkim (3.23%).
- Among states and UTs with more than 10 million population, five that have carried out the highest number of tests (per million population) are Delhi (487874), J&K (317260), Kerala (247362), Andhra Pradesh (239041), and Karnataka (238687).
- The five most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (1981623), Karnataka (929960), Andhra Pradesh (885616), Kerala (831259), and Tamil Nadu (828952).
- Maharashtra, the most affected state overall, has reported 3,579 new cases to take its tally to 1981623. The state has added 34,612 cases in the past 10 days.
- Karnataka, the second-most-affected state, has reported 408 cases to take its tally to 929960.
- Andhra Pradesh, the third-most-affected state by total cases, added 179 cases to take its tally to 885616.
- Kerala has added 5490 cases to take its tally to 831259.
- Tamil Nadu has seen its tally going up by 665 to 828952.
- Delhi has added 340 cases to take its tally to 631589.
- Uttar Pradesh has added 501 cases to take its tally to 595142.
