The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India now stands at 9,927,310 – or 96.16 per cent of total caseload – with 20,923 new cured cases being reported on Sunday.
- With a daily increase of 18,177 in total cases, India’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen 10,305,788 on Saturday to 10,323,965 – an increase of 0.2%. Death toll has reached 149,435, with 217 fatalities in a day. Now the tenth-most-affected country by active cases, third by fatality, and second by total and recovered cases, India has added 136,115 cases in the past 7 days.
- India now accounts for 1.07% of all active cases globally (one in every 96 active cases), and 8.10% of all deaths (one in every 12 deaths).
- Backwards from here, the last 1 million cases for India have come in 37 days.
- The count of active cases across India has seen a net decline of 2,963, compared with 4,071 on Saturday. States that have reported the highest net increase in active cases are Maharashtra (1057), Kerala (322), Odisha (15), and Ladakh (15).
- With 20,923 new daily recoveries, India’s recovery rate has improved to 96.16%; the fatality rate remains unchanged at 1.45%.
- The Indian states and UTs with the worst case fatality rates at present are Punjab (3.21%), Maharashtra (2.56%), and Gujarat (2.18%). The rate in as many as 13 is higher than the national average.
- India’s new daily closed cases stand at 21,140 — 217 deaths and 20,923 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at 1.03%.
- India’s 5-day moving average of daily rate of addition to total cases stands at 0.2%.
- India’s doubling time for total cases stands at 393.3 days, and for deaths at 477.0 days.
- Overall, five states with the biggest 24-hour jump in total cases are Kerala (5328), Maharashtra (3218), Chhattisgarh (1147), Tamil Nadu (910), and West Bengal (863).
- Among states with more than 25,000 cases, the five with worst recovery rates at present are Kerala (91.10%), Uttarakhand (93.57%), Himachal Pradesh (94.35%), Gujarat (94.41%), and Maharashtra (94.64%).
- India on Saturday conducted 958,125 coronavirus tests, taking the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 174,899,783. The test positivity rate recorded was 1.9%.
- Five states with the highest test positivity rate (TPR) – percentage of tested people turning out to be positive for Covid-19 infection (by cumulative data for tests and cases) – are Maharashtra (15.04%), Goa (12.73%), Chandigarh (10.85%), Nagaland (9.9%), and Kerala (9.62%).
- Five states with the highest TPR by daily numbers for tests and cases added – are Kerala (9.85%), Chandigarh (6.42%), Goa (5.86%), Sikkim (5.37%), and Maharashtra (4.83%).
- Among states and UTs with more than 10 million population, five that have carried out the highest number of tests (per million population) are Delhi (444522), J&K (294282), Andhra Pradesh (228502), Kerala (228294), and Karnataka (215752).
- The five most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (1938854), Karnataka (921128), Andhra Pradesh (882850), Tamil Nadu (819845), and Kerala (771252).
- Maharashtra, the most affected state overall, has reported 3,218 new cases to take its tally to 1938854. The state has added 32,483 cases in the past 10 days.
- Karnataka, the second-most-affected state, has reported 755 cases to take its tally to 921128.
- Andhra Pradesh, the third-most-affected state by total cases, added 238 cases to take its tally to 882850.
- Tamil Nadu has seen its tally going up by 910 to 819845.
- Kerala has added 5328 cases to take its tally to 771252.
- Delhi has added 494 cases to take its tally to 626448.
- Uttar Pradesh has added 683 cases to take its tally to 587434.
