India reported a decline of 375 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 15,044. The country is fifty-sixth among the most affected countries by active cases. On May 20, it added 2,259 cases to take its total caseload to 43,131,822. And, with 20 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,323, or 1.22 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 1,512,766 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on May 19, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,919,632,518. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,592,455 — or 98.75 per cent of total caseload — with 2,614 new cured cases being reported on May 19.
