India on June 6 reported an increase of 1,730 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 25,782. The country is fifty-first among the most affected countries by active cases. On June 6, it added 4,518 cases, taking its total caseload to 43,181,335. And, with 9 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,701, or 1.22 per cent of total confirmed infections.

With 257,187 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 5, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,941,287,000. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,630,852 — or 98.73 per cent of total caseload — with 2,779 new cured cases being reported on June 5.
