The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 23,728,011 – or 88.69 per cent of total caseload – with 302,544 new cured cases being reported on Monday.
- With a daily increase of 222,315 in total cases, India’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen from 26,530,132 on Sunday to 26,752,447 – an increase of 0.8%. Death toll has reached 303,720, with 4,454 fatalities. Now the second-most-affected country by active cases, total cases and recovery, and third by death, India has added 1,786,984 cases in the past 7 days.
- India now accounts for 17.64% of all active cases globally (one in every 5 active cases), and 8.73% of all deaths (one in every 12 deaths).
- India has so far administered 196,051,962 vaccine doses. That is 753.12 per cent of its total caseload, and 14.08 per cent of its population.
- Among Indian states, the top 5 in terms of number of vaccine shots administered are Maharashtra (25504030), Uttar Pradesh (20908855), Rajasthan (20787751), Gujarat (19468856), and West Bengal (17267741).
- Among states with more than 10 million population, the top 5 in number of vaccine shots per one million population are Delhi (327399), Kerala (314978), Gujarat (304809), Uttarakhand (297872), and Chhattisgarh (281867).

- The count of active cases across India on Monday saw a net reduction of 84,683, compared with 118,001 on Sunday. States that have seen the biggest daily net increase in active cases are Tamil Nadu (9865), Odisha (1197), Meghalaya (226), Manipur (144), and Sikkim (123).
- With 302,544 new daily recoveries, India’s recovery rate stands at 88.69%, while fatality rate has increased marginally to 1.14%.
- The Indian states and UTs with the worst case fatality rates at present are Punjab (2.46%), Uttarakhand (1.85%), and Sikkim (1.71%). The rate in as many as 19 is higher than the national average.
- India’s new daily closed cases stand at 306,998 — 4,454 deaths and 302,544 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at 1.45%.
- India’s 5-day moving average of daily rate of addition to total cases stands at 1.0%.
- India’s doubling time for total cases stands at 83.1 days, and for deaths at 46.9 days.
- Overall, five states with the biggest 24-hour jump in total cases are Tamil Nadu (35483), Maharashtra (26672), Karnataka (25979), Kerala (25820), and Andhra Pradesh (18767).
- Among states with more than 100,000 cases, the five with worst recovery rates at present are Karnataka (79.45%), Uttarakhand (80.69%), J&K (81.15%), Tamil Nadu (82.92%), and Himachal Pradesh (83.94%).
- India on Sunday conducted 1,928,127 coronavirus tests to take the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 330,536,064. The test positivity rate recorded was 11.5%.
- Five states with the highest test positivity rate (TPR) – percentage of tested people turning out to be positive for Covid-19 infection (by cumulative data for tests and cases – are Goa (18.59%), Maharashtra (16.9%), Dadra & Nagar Haveli-Daman & Diu (13.79%), Kerala (12.49%), and Chandigarh (12.06%).
- Five states with the highest TPR by daily numbers for tests and cases added – are Goa (35.49%), Sikkim (32.08%), West Bengal (26.64%), Kerala (22.81%), and Manipur (21.25%).
- Among states and UTs with more than 10 million population, five that have carried out the highest number of tests (per million population) are Delhi (1000869), J&K (605145), Kerala (526458), Karnataka (424899), and Uttarakhand (401461).
- The five most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (5579897), Karnataka (2424904), Kerala (2347966), Tamil Nadu (1842344), and Uttar Pradesh (1669891).
- Maharashtra, the most affected state overall, has reported 26,672 new cases to take its tally to 5579897. The state has added 310,605 cases in the past 10 days.
- Karnataka, the third-most-affected state, has reported 25,979 cases to take its tally to 2424904.
- Kerala, the second-most-affected state by total tally, has added 25,820 cases to take its tally to 2347966.
- Tamil Nadu has added 35,383 cases to take its tally to 1842344.
- Uttar Pradesh has added 4,715 cases to take its tally to 1669891.
- Andhra Pradesh has seen its tally going up by 18,767 to 1580827.
- Delhi has added 1,649 cases to take its tally to 1416868.
