Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad have emerged as the top destinations attracting talent in the country with most young seekers migrating to these cities for job opportunities, reveals the LinkedIn India Workforce Report. The report, capturing the trends between July and December 2018, provides insights about top jobs across the largest and fastest-growing industries, top in-demand skills, and top destinations in India and internationally, where talent was moving to. Findings also revealed that software & IT services, manufacturing, and finance, followed by corporate services and education were seen as the largest industries. "India has one of the youngest and most rapidly growing workforces in the world, and the changing trends of this dynamic economy are reflected in this report,”said Mahesh Narayanan, country manager, India, LinkedIn.
Shopping realities
According to Gartner, Inc. in less than two years, the number of consumers shopping after visualising products through Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) is slated to touch 100 million. With the technologies already shaking up the customer experience as Gartner predicts that the by 2020, the 100 million chunk will comprise both online and in-store shoppers. “Retailers are under increasing pressure to explain the purpose of physical stores, and take control of the fulfilment and return process for cross-channel execution,” said Hanna Karki, principal research analyst at Gartner. He added that the consumers are progressively defining the value provided by the experiences they receive from retailers. “As a result of these pressures, retailers are turning to AR and VR to offer customers a unified retail experience inside and outside retail stores.” Referring to a survey from last year, Gartner said that by 2020, 46 percent of retailers planned to deploy either AR or VR solutions to meet customer service experience requirements.
