On Monday, heavy rains lashed parts of the National Capital, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas, even as the mercury settled at the normal level.

Not only did Delhiites face traffic gridlocks across the Capital, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, too, was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic near IGI Airport.

News agency ANI tweeted on Monday: "Media accompanying US Secretary of State John Kerry report that his carcade is stuck in flooded gridlocked roads from airport to city in Delhi." (sic)

The US Secretary of State arrived in New Delhi from Bangladesh, only to join millions of the city's residents in their woe.

Kerry is in New Delhi to take part in the second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue. His visit is part of the Obama Administration's efforts to conclude important business with India before the change of guard in January 2017.
