Delhi's Tina Dabi tops 2015 UPSC exams in first attempt

1,078 candidates have cleared the toughest and most prestigious examination in India

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results of Civil Services Examination 2015 on Tuesday with Delhi-based Tina Dabi taking the top rank. Tina was followed by Jammu and Kashmir Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan and Delhi’s Jasmeet Singh Sandhu respectively. 

In total, 1,078 candidates have cleared the toughest and most prestigious examination in India. They have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services, Group 'A' and Group 'B'.

Out of these, 499 belong to general category, 314 from other backward classes, 176 from scheduled castes and 89 from scheduled tribes.

There are 180 vacancies in IAS, 45 in IFS, 150 in IPS, 728 in Central Services Group 'A' and 61 in Group 'B' Service, including 46 vacancies for physically challenged people. 

In accordance with Rule 16 (4) & (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules 2015, the commission is maintaining a reserve list of 172 candidates. 

The results were based on the written examination held in December 2015 and personality test interviews conducted from March to May 2016.
