Demand for cooperative reforms in Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation Ltd has sought early implementation of the Vaidyananthan committee recommendations on cooperative reforms to free itself from state government restraints.

The federation has also sought Rs 40 crore dues, from the government, given to farmers under the interest subsidy scheme during the last 4 years.

The federation has now approached the High Court against the appointment of Ramindiri Mandrawl as its new Officer on Special Duty (OSD).said Pramod Kumar Singh, Chairman of the federation.

While stating that Mandrawal is getting her salary and other perks from the federation, Singh said under the Vaidayanathan committee recommendation, such appointments are illegal.

Singh also claimed that the federation has been deprived of an incentive of Rs 56 crore which was to be given to the state for cooperative reforms.
