A leaked nude scene of actress Radhika Apte in an Anurag Kashyap short film has gone viral on social media, angering the director, media reported Tuesday. The scene, which shows frontal nudity of Apte’s lower body, was shot by director Anurag Kashyap for a short film that was to be screened internationally.

A furious Kashyap told The Indian Express that the shot is supposed to be part of a project with six other international directors, each of whom was to contribute one short film. All the films are to be released later as a large film for the international market.

"I am very angry and I am going to spend the rest of my life to find this guy," Kashyap told The Indian Express.

He added that because of the sensitivity of the scene, which required Apte to lift her dress and expose her lower front part, the video was shot with care. The entire crew was an all-woman team. He also ensured that women were present at every stage of the post production process. Even the print that was sent for post-production had the scene blanked out or pixelated.

The director further told the media that he suspected the leak of the video to be the handiwork of some Indian man in New York, where the film was finally sent.

"You try to take a step forward as a filmmaker, they take you five steps back. And she feels victimised and I feel responsible," Kashyap said.
