After the incident, the CISF has transferred 67 of its officers to Bengaluru and Chennai airports. An official CISF statement stated the transfer was a routine exercise, following its established practice of transferring a section of the soldiers every two years.

"This is nothing connected with the melee at the airport," it said.

The nine members of the fire & rescue (F&R) wing of AAI, who were arrested on June 11, have been remanded by the First Class Judicial Magistrate of Manjeri, in the Malappuram district. Sources said 40 officers of the F&R department would be transferred soon.
