Fuel price: Relief continues with consecutive cuts in petrol, diesel prices

Petrol and diesel prices saw a fall of 14 paise and 9 paise respectively in Delhi

Fuel prices continued to fall on Tuesday with petrol and diesel now being sold at Rs 78.42 per litre and Rs 73.07 per litre respectively in the national capital.

Compared to Monday, petrol and diesel prices saw a fall of 14 paise and 9 paise respectively in Delhi.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices are being retailed at Rs 83.92 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.14) and Rs 76.57 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.10) respectively.

According to the revised prices issued by Indian Oil, petrol now costs Rs 80.33 against Rs 80.47 on Monday in Kolkata and Rs 81.46 (decrease by 15 paise) in Chennai.

After the revision, diesel price has fallen below Rs 78-mark in Chennai. The fuel is being retailed at 77.24 (decrease by 10 paise) per litre in the city.

In Kolkata, diesel now costs Rs 74.93 against Rs 75.02 per litre on Monday.

Fuel prices had earlier witnessed a relentless hike in the country, burning a hole in the commuter's pocket.

The consecutive cuts in fuel prices came after petrol and diesel prices touched record high levels across the country.

On October 4, petrol had surged to a record high of Rs 84 and diesel had gone up to Rs 75.45 in Delhi.
