German ambassador to India Michael Steiner is scheduled to visit Hyderabad on April 25-26 to meet political leaders there and give a boost to Andhra Pradesh education and science sectors.
This is will be the ambassador’s first visit to the region in the current capacity where he will also be flagging off ‘DWIH New Delhi - Excellence on Tour 2013’, a first of its kind road-show offering an interactive platform to academicians, researchers and students from both India and Germany. The road-show will also travel to Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
“The Indo-German cooperation in science and education is a defining pillar of our bilateral relationship … Andhra Pradesh is home to many top-class universities and over 1,000 colleges, Hyderabad with its more than a dozen universities is a metropolis of knowledge - the perfect setting for kick-starting our ‘DWIH New Delhi – Excellence on Tour,” Steiner said in a statement.
Steiner is also expected to visit the site of Hyderabad bomb blasts that took place on February 21.

The tour is supported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Goethe-Zentrum and the Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society. The road show will travel in a multi-functional pavilion created by famous German artist Markus Heinsdorff, whose pavilions were the visual attraction of the five Indo-German Urban Melas during the German Year in India.
Steiner is also expected to visit the site of Hyderabad bomb blasts that took place on February 21.
