Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi today announced creation of a separate dedicated corpus fund of Rs 1 crore, in league with Kailash Satyarthi Childhood Foundation (KSCF), for rescue and rehabilitation of children in Assam engaged in child labour. Gogoi said this would be a "new chapter" for ensuring immunity of children against bonded labour.
"This is a unique initiative of the state government for the prevention, rescue and rehabilitation of the exploited and deprived children and guaranteeing their future," said Gogoi after having a meeting with Kailash Satyarthi, the nobel laureate.
