Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Tuesday announced changes to his padyatra, which was to begin at the end of this month, against Centre's Land Acquisition Bill. Hazare said the padyatra (footmarch) has been postponed following representations from farmers that the schedule clashed with their field work.
"Anna said there were several representations from farmers and farmers organisations that the padyatra schedule clashed with their farm work and also warning about the high temperature in April," his aide Datta Awari told PTI over phone from Ralegan Siddhi.
Also, the recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms was another reason for postponement, he said. "The padyatra will be held after one or one and a half months. The new dates will be announced later," Awari said.
