For the first time this summer, the mercury has touched 30 C in Shimla on Tuesday. Una, in the foothills, was the hottest at 44 C. Tourists escaping the heat of the plains have descended in large numbers in the hill stations of Himachal. Shimla recorded a maximum of 30 C, seven notches above normal. Minimum was 21 C, again seven notches above normal.
Even in tribal Kinnaur's Kalpa village the tribals felt the heat at 25.4 C . In Solan the mercury climbed to 35.6 C .
In Kullu airport the mercury rose to 38.2 C . While in Dharamsala it was 35.4 C .
