The enforcement wing of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPN) has imposed a penalty of about Rs 85 lakh on the dye and garments printing units in Dheeraj Nagar, Kheri-kalan sub-division in Faridabad district. They were found indulging in theft of power by using a total of 118 kilowatt of direct load.
It has also been decided to lodge First Information Report against the erring consumers, Informed the official spokesperson.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that on the directions of Director General Police-cum-Director, Vigilance, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, the vigilance wing of Power Department has started the anti power theft drive to detect theft of power.
He said that the enforcement wing of Karnal and Faridabad districts conducted a raid at industrial units the area along with the technical staff and police personnel. The special checking was conducted in dye and garments printing units, which were closed by the Pollution Control Board due to increased level of pollution.
