An India-China dialogue on economy and finance scheduled for June 27 has been "cancelled", an official source said.

"The meet stands cancelled," the source said.

The India-China financial dialogue, at the secretary-level, was to be held on June 27.

The cancellation comes even as Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley arrived here on Thursday on a five-day visit to attend a series of meetings.

The development closely follows China's steadfast refusal to support India's membership to the Nuclear Suppliers Group, on the grounds that New Delhi is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Most other members of the 48-member NSG have come out in support of India, ahead of an important plenary being held in Seoul to decide on the membership of India and Pakistan.

Jaitley is scheduled to attend the first annual meeting of the Board of Governors' of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on June 25 and 26.
