The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Anurag Thakur said that the announcement on Indian cricket team's head coach would be made by Thursday evening, reported ANI.
The BCCI's cricket advisory committee, appointed to pick the India head coach, will forward the final choice to honorary secretary Ajay Shirke.
The date for forwarding the name was previously reported to be June 24.
The three-member committee comprising Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman met on Wednesday to deliberate further on the options and possibilities based on the presentations made by the applicants.
Last week, the sport's governing body had shortlisted 21 candidates out of 57 applicants for the post of head coach of the Indian team after they met the primary criteria specified by the BCCI.
Former India captain Anil Kumble and former team director Ravi Shastri were among the most high-profile candidates who were interviewed on Tuesday.
