Soon after being discharged from J J hospital here, Indrani Mukerjea, key accused in Sheena Bora murder case, recorded her statement with police about the circumstances under which she fell unconscious last Friday.
"State IG (Prisons) has recorded the statement of Indrani in presence of doctors," a police official, requesting anonymity, told PTI.
Details regarding Indrani's statement are not yet known.
Earlier in the evening, Principal Secretary (Appeals and Security) Vijay Satbir Singh had said the former media executive was mentally and physically fit now.
Indrani was discharged from the hospital this evening and moved to the Byculla Women's Prison.
After Indrani's hospitalisation, conflicting reports had emerged on suspected drug overdose in prison. While one report showed she had overdosed on anti-depressant pills, the other found no such thing.
Indrani and two other accused were arrested in August-end on the charge of murdering her daughter and disposing of the body in a forest in Raigad district, about 84 km from here, in April 2012. All the accused has been remanded to judicial custody till October 19.
Bora case is presently being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Newly-appointed IG (Prisons) Bipin Kumar Singh is heading the probe into the circumstances under which Indrani collapsed in Byculla Women's Prison, where she is lodged under judicial custody since last month, and rushed to state-run medical facility five days ago. It is suspected that the 43-year-old had overdose of anti-depressant pills.
