Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday accused the previous INLD-BJP regime of neglecting Jind and said only Rs 539.26 crore were spent on development of the district during their six years tenure.

He claimed the present state government , in contrast to the previous, has so far spent Rs 2,252.86 crore on the district. Hooda was addressing a gathering after inaugurating Sindhvi Khera Samman Dwar and a park 'Bhaichara' on the 101st birth anniversary of late Colonel Shobha Chand at Sindhvi Khera village in Jind on Thursday.

Lashing out at the Opposition, Hooda said he was not in the habit of criticising others, but it was a reality that the area of Jind was neglected by the previous regime “as it was clearly evident from the fact that they had spent merely Rs 1.23 lakh for the development of Sindhvi Khera in their entire tenure of six years.” PTI

On the other hand, the present state government has so far spent more than Rs 2.20 crore on the village for various development works and much more would be done, he said. While the present state government had spent Rs 366 crore on various development works in Julana assembly constituency alone, Rs 552 crore had been spent in the Jind assembly segment. Refuting the allegation levelled by Opposition leader Om Parkash Chautala regarding corruption, Hooda alleged,”they should first see themselves as their entire family was charge sheeted under various corruption cases.” Hooda said he would leave politics if anyone proved that he and his son (Deepender) have ever taken even Rs 11 from anywhere in the state.
